What If You Believed You Belonged

There’s a moment—right before you step into something big—when your inner critic gets loud:
“Who do you think you are?”
“What if you mess it up?”
“You’re not ready.”
Sound familiar?
Imposter syndrome doesn’t always show up as panic. Sometimes it’s more of a whisper... a subtle hum of “not enough” playing in the background. And even when we’ve earned the opportunity, we start rehearsing all the ways we might fall short.
Here’s what I remind myself when that voice shows up:
Name it, don’t numb it: Imposter syndrome loses power when we call it out. Say it aloud. Write it down. Tell someone you trust. You don’t have to silence the voice—just stop letting it steer the wheel.
Anchor in the evidence: What have you already done that proves you’ve got this? What have people seen in you—said about you? Think of the doors you've opened by being exactly who you are. Keep those moments close, not for ego—for grounding.
Borrow belief: When your self-belief is shaky, lean on the people who see your light. Re-read that kind message. Replay the compliment. Remember the time someone looked at you and said, “You were made for this.”
As Brené Brown says:
“Don’t shrink. Don’t puff up. Stand on your sacred ground.”
You don’t have to wait until you feel confident. You just have to ACT with COURAGE—one step at a time. You don’t need to be perfect to be powerful.
You just need to show up as YOU.
